Getting Started
Children can begin our beginner ballet/tap combination class as early as age 3. This introductory class focuses on basic coordination, rhythm, and fun movement activities that lay the foundation for future ballet and tap training. We have age-appropriate programs for every stage from ages 3 through adult.
Absolutely not! We welcome students of all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced dancers. Our curriculum is designed to meet each student where they are and help them progress at their own pace. Our Beginning Ballet/Tap and Adult Beginning Ballet classes are specifically designed for students with no prior experience.
Class placement is based on age and experience level. For new students, we recommend starting with a free trial class so our instructors can assess your current level and recommend the most appropriate class. For students with prior training, we may schedule a brief placement audition to ensure proper class fit.
Yes! We encourage prospective families to observe a class before making a decision. Please contact us to schedule a visit. We ask that observers sit quietly in the designated viewing area and refrain from interrupting the class. This gives you a chance to see our teaching style and studio environment firsthand.
Classes & Training
For ballet classes, students should wear proper ballet attire: leotard and tights for girls, fitted t-shirt and ballet tights or shorts for boys. Hair should be neatly pulled back in a bun. Ballet shoes are required—soft leather or canvas slippers for beginners, and pointe shoes when approved by the instructor. We can recommend local dancewear suppliers. Students in tap, jazz, or contemporary classes must also have shoes for that particular dance form.
Class frequency depends on age and goals. Younger students (ages 3-7) typically attend one 60-minute class per week. Older children and teens serious about dance may attend 2-4 classes per week. Our competitive dance team students train 6+ times weekly. We'll help you find the right balance based on your child's interests and commitment level.
Pointe work typically begins around ages 11-13, but readiness depends on individual strength, technique, and training history—not just age. Our instructors carefully assess each student's readiness through a formal pointe evaluation. Starting pointe too early can lead to injury, so we take this decision seriously and only approve students who demonstrate proper preparation.
Yes! We offer multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. Our annual Winter production in December features students from our Children's and Teen programs. The Spring Recital in May highlights student work from all levels. We also participate in community events and competitions. Performance participation is optional but highly encouraged as it builds confidence and stage presence.
Absolutely! Our Adult Beginning Ballet class is specifically designed for complete beginners. Many of our adult students start with zero dance experience and find the classes both challenging and rewarding. We also offer Adult Intermediate Ballet, Adult Contemporary, and Adult Open Barre for those who want to continue their training. It's never too late to start dancing!
Tuition & Policies
Tuition varies by program and age group. Our beginner and intermediate children's classes start at $75/month for one class per week. Our tween and teen programs are $80/month for one class per week with a 50% discount for additional classes. Adult classes are $80/month or $20 per drop-in visit. There's a one-time $35 annual registration fee per family. This fee is waived if the family remains enrolled through the summer months. We offer 50% sibling discounts and annual payment discounts. Please see our Tuition page for complete pricing details.
Yes, we believe dance should be accessible to all families. We offer need-based financial assistance and scholarships for qualified students. Please contact us to discuss your situation and learn about our application process. We work with families to find solutions that allow every child to experience the joy of dance.
Regular attendance is important for student progress. If a student must miss a class, they may attend one make-up class of the same level within the same month, subject to availability and with advance notice. Make-up classes must be scheduled through the front office. Tuition is not adjusted for absences, holidays, or studio closures.
Families may withdraw at any time with 30 days written notice. Tuition is non-refundable once the month has begun, but future billing will stop after the notice period. The annual registration fee is non-refundable. We understand that circumstances change and work with families to ensure a smooth transition.
